Castor Church of England Primary School

Worship

As a Church of England school with very close links to our local church, St Kyneburgha of Castor, all children and staff join together for a daily act of worship. The weekly theme is based on the liturgical calendar and gospel readings along with our Christian values. This also links with services at our Benefice Churches and the teachings which take place at Children’s Church (Castor Church Sunday Club).

Worship on a Monday is led by Mr Tapping and celebrates our Christian values alongside stories from the Bible.  British Values, our work as a UNICEF Rights Respecting School  and events in the Church calendar may also be incorporated.

Mrs Phillips leads worship on Tuesdays, which is based around the ideas and messages from UNICEF.

Class teachers lead worship on Wednesdays.

On a Thursday, a member of the Church team is welcomed into school to help us understand the weekly theme message further, together with the teachings of the Church of England.

On a Friday, we invite parents (by year group), friends and carers of our children, to join us as we celebrate the successes of the week both inside and outside of school, always remembering to thank God for the gifts and talents he has given to us.

Our Achievement Assembly takes place at 2.45pm each Friday (unless notified otherwise).
